Drupal is an open-sourced Content Management System (CMS) that can be used to host a web-site with pluggable components like blogs, forums, posts, feeds, editorials, triggers, etc. Drupal 6.x support is now supported within NetBeans by a new Drupal plugin at https://nbdrupalsupport.dev.java.net/.

Drupal requires installing an AMP stack (Apache HTTP Server, MySQL and PHP) and there are some nice instructions on making Drupal 6.x support on NetBeans 6.1 IDE a reality.

If you are interested in Drupal, you will be interested in this recent video with Scott Mattoon, Chief Architect of Sun US, from Developer TV on the SDN Channel:

Also you may be interested in this interview with Scott on the topic of using Drupal for a great use. Also embedded in this article are the slides from a talk Scott gave.
