We are proud to announce the release of the open source NaVisu project, available on GitHub:

NaVisu is an open source nautical navigation software created on the NetBeans Platform. You can read your nautical charts, connect to a GPS, and display many beautiful JavaFX widgets on the top of the application.

 It looks great!  I really like how they mixed the LandSat/Blue Marble textures with the Nautical Map texture images.
