NetBeans User Group Founded at Zrenjanin, Serbia
NetBeans User Group Serbia founded a new section at the Technical Faculty of Zrenjanin , University of Novi Sad. They gave a presentation which introduced professors and students to their activities related to open source projects, and invited them to join efforts.

Professors Dalibor Dobrilovic, Vladimir Brtka and Stojanov Zeljko agreed to include the NetBeans Platform and Neuroph in their teaching materials and encourage students to use those for their working assignements. So, we hope to get some interesting contributions in the future.

They also invited students to join the NetBeans Community Acceptance Testing program, and start contributing immediately that way.
The idea of this initiative is to share community building experience and work together work in order to help academic user groups to grow. Nenad Maljukan from the Technical Faculty of Zrenjanin, who attended th NetBeans Platform training in June in Belgrade, will be the group coordinator. They've allready created a simple site for their user group, where you can read more details about this event.
Zoran Sevarac and his crew from NUGS hope to do this at other universities in Serbia as well, and then to share experiences with universities around the world. They've been running their user group for three years now, and they've done some interesting projects and included NetBeans Platform into official curriculum at their university.
So if you work at a university, and you would also like to start teaching advanced software engineering topics, and learn from great, world famous open source projects, let us know, and we'll be glad to help you to start your local university NetBeans user group!
